I had heard that Senegalese people are renowned for their warm and welcoming nature. I experienced this right away on my second and final flight from New York to the capital of Senegal, Dakar. My airplane companion was Senegalese and immediately started chatting with me and getting to know me and by the end of the flight I had an invite to their family home for dinner!

Upon arriving in Dakar, I met up with a few other travelers who were guests at this wedding. We caught a few taxis together to make the drive from Dakar to the place we were staying. The streets were really busy with other cars, taxis, buses, street vendors, bicycles, animals, etc. I don’t think I could cut it as a taxi driver here!
